The spiritually stunted are hindered from "laying aside all malice, and all guile, the hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings" (I Peter 2:1). They are stopped in adding the Christian graces: knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love (II Peter 1:5-7): and like branches cut from the vine, they will be severed from the Lord (John 15:6)
The sociably retarded lose the warmth of friends and the strength of fellowship. Jesus was friendly and sociable with everyone who would permit it. One of the beautiful attributes of the early church is they broke "bread from house to house" (Acts 2:46). The world is wanting to clasp the hand of friendship, keep yours extended if you would have friends. "A man that hath friends must show himself friendly" (Proverbs 18:24)
"Blessed are the dead who die [physically] in the Lord" (Revelation 14:13), but cursed are the living who die in stagnation!
