Can We "Know"? Floyd Thompson
There are many things you and I "know confidently" that we have never seen, never experienced, but the evidence present is abundant to convince us that we "know." I have never been in a typewriter manufacturing plant, but "I know" that typewriters are made up of component parts that are manufactured, then assembled. I know that. I know they do not grow on trees, nor are they mined from the earth, just as they are. We know many things about God and Christ that we have not seen. But we confidently affirm and believe them. We know a greater power than ours set this universe in motion, with the sun, moon and stars in place, and with all the natural laws in effect. The evidence of this power is too abundant to shrug off as a happenstance.
So the evidence of Christ's earthly existence, of His death, burial and resurrection is abundant enough to cause any thoughtful person to say, "I know assuredly that God hath made this same Jesus whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ."
